I’ve been coming to Golden Joy BBQ in Richardson for about five years now, and it still hits the spot whenever I’m craving proper Chinese BBQ and dim sum. The roasted pork and BBQ pork are consistently juicy with that nice caramelized edge, and the roasted duck is another standout—tender meat, flavorful skin, the kind of thing that makes you want to order extra to take home. They do a solid selection of dim sum too, so it’s easy to mix and match plates without overthinking it. Prices have stayed pretty reasonable the whole time I’ve been going, which is part of why I keep coming back instead of chasing the newer spots. A lot of other regulars talk about the same things: the roasted meats are the real draw, the portions feel generous for the money, and the staff is generally friendly and attentive once you’re seated. I’ve always found the servers helpful and polite, even when the place gets busy. That said, this is a typical Chinese restaurant vibe—during peak lunch or weekend hours the wait can stretch a bit longer, and the parking lot fills up fast, so you might end up walking from farther away. I had a really great time at Golden Joy BBQ. The dim sum was incredibly flavorful and the prices were really reasonable. I enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant also, and my hostess was very sweet, made sure I got something to drink and everything!

It’s a VERY nice local dimsum place. Staff is very nice and helpful, gave nice recommendations. I was craving some stir fried green beans (they didn’t have it on their menu) and the waitress offered to have it made anyways, even asking if I wanted meat in it or just stir fried with garlic. Roast pork tastes great. Egg noodles soup is amazing. Can’t wait to go back and try other things on the menu!!!

Excellent 👌 Food is just superb, service is excellent and genuine. Staff is very professional and welcoming. I have come here twice now and have zero complaints. First with my mum and father who is a disabled veteran and we were treated excellently. Their bbq duck and marinated/salt chicken are amazing/superb. Their bean curd stir fry with veggies is amazing. Come here and enjoy their food. You are welcome.

Do you enjoy eating Dim Sum? Golden Joy, located in Richardson, has consistently served delicious food for several years. The service is attentive and you will enjoy the friendly atmosphere. I recommend you try the Singapore noodles with a combination of meat, roasted duck, roasted pork, barbeque pork, shrimp dumplings, chive dumplings, shrimp balls, baked pineapple buns, and sesame balls.
